Clean Plate Guide started with a simple problem: most cleaning advice online sounds good but falls apart the second you try it. So we built a site that only publishes what actually works: checklists, product picks, and answers to the questions people actually search for.
We don't repost tips from other sites. If a method doesn't hold up in our own kitchen or bathroom, it doesn't get published.
Every checklist, guide, and product review on this site is free. No paywalls, no email wall before you can read a tip.
When we recommend a product, we say why, and we mention the ones that didn't work just as often as the ones that did.
Cleaning products and prices change. We go back and update older guides instead of leaving them outdated.
There’s no shortage of cleaning blogs. Most of them repeat the same five tips with different photos. We do it differently; every guide gets tested in a real home before it goes live.
We didn’t start out planning to run a cleaning site. It grew out of a shared spreadsheet of cleaning tips that actually worked, passed between a few friends who were tired of bad advice.

What began as notes for our own homes turned into the first published cleaning checklist, the one that's still our most-read page.

We started asking actual house cleaners what they'd change about our tips. Half our checklists got rewritten after those conversations.

We stopped taking brands at their word. Every "eco-friendly" or "non-toxic" product got tried in a real home first, and a good chunk of them got cut from the list.

The site grew from one shared spreadsheet into over 300 checklists and guides. Same rule as day one, though: if it doesn't work in our own kitchen, it doesn't go up.
